Breaking news!
Today I appeared on the radio show Culture Shocks with Rev. Barry Lynn. He’s the executive director for Americans United for Separation of Church and State. We discussed Sex in the South and what makes the region of kudzu, fried okra and mint juleps a hotbed for sex and repression. Yes, church has something to do with it.
If you’re looking to buy a copy of “Sex in the South: Unbuckling the Bible Belt,” you’ve come to the right place. You can order directly from me. Signed hardbacks, $24 plus $3 S&H. Signed Paperbacks, $13 plus $3 S&H. Drop me a line here or at suzi_parkeratatt.net.

Seen and Heard This Week
* Seen: A minority midget. This is strange only because midgets make my mom nervous.
* Heard: That B-52s’ lead singer Fred Schneider spent more than $1k on clothes at Mr. Kool’s in downtown Little Rock. Later, he and some of the backing members of the band went to Midtown. Kate and Cindy did not.
* Seen: A baby swan all alone on the bank of a pond. Mama, Papa and sibling baby swan swam alone. Later heard that the Papa swan pecked the lone baby swan to death after some little brats, I mean toddlers, threw rocks at it.
* Heard: Nancy Drew was the hero of Sonia Sotomayor, Obama’s nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court. Smart woman.
* Heard: Abilene, Kansas is preparing for a big D-Day invasion event June 5 at The Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum.
* Seen: Fireworks in the rain for the first time.
* Seen and Heard: A funked-up dreamy practice by local band Stella Fancy. I heart Stella Fancy.
* Heard: The Banana Splits song from childhood on a jukebox – We’re the Banana Splits.

Bingo Reads Playboy
One of my favorite books is Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin. He brilliantly weaves the stories of eccletic characters into pure fiction. Little Rock is a lot like Maupin’s San Francisco. I’ve often pondered what this blog should be about — politics, sex, music, books, all the things that interest me in the universe?
Then it hit me. It should be about the world I live in — Little Rock — and the creatures who inhabit it with a bit of the rest of Arkansas and the South thrown in for good measure. So check here often for intrigue and drama about the people who live around us, for politics, for the dark side of life (sometimes) and for adventure.
This one’s for you, Lance Turner.
I caved in and am tweeting — or whatever you call it — at twitter. But do you really want to know if I’m on my way to a swingers convention or would you rather read a short story? I say a short story.
Right now on twitter, I’m posting a work of fiction “Tattoo Lust.” It’s a story about a girl, a boy and his obsession with his ex’s tattoo.
